Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister for Poverty Alleviation Chitra Bahadur KC ruled out the possibility of India lifting the unofficial blockade imposed on Nepal anytime soon. Speaking to media persons, DPM KC said the Tarai agitation was not the actual cause of supply disruptions on the border. “We have not been able to learn anything from the past embargoes. Rather, we have become more dependent on India although the government is taking initiatives to resolve the crisis,” he said. People across the country have been facing a difficult time due to acute shortage of daily essentials, including life saving drugs, cooking gas, fuel and foodstuffs.
